Focus Group/Research

So unfortunately I couldn't make it in for the focus group today, which I know my group probably isn't happy about, however i explained due to ilness and appointmenst etc.

However, they informed me that everything went well, and they had correlated the results.

Now, I just wanted to make it clear that, even though i haven't been able to attend some of the meetings, it doesn't mean i haven't done the work, which almost everything is thinking.

So I did as much research on Doctor who as i could today:

I found many different sites with statistic on viewers over the years, and started to look at its American audience, as well as asking people on Facebook, from America, what they thought about the 3 different shows the 3 of us were researching, so i conducted a little poll.

General facts about doctor who:

Doctor Who is a British science-fiction television series broadcast on the BBC

•It was first aired on television on the 23rd November 1963 on BBC One

•The story follows the character of a timelord named ‘The Doctor’ who travels through time and space.

•From 1963-1989 there had been a total of seven ‘Doctors’

•In 2005 the series was revived and continued with a a new Doctor starring Christopher Eccleson.

•The show draw’s in an average of 8 million viewers

•Although the British-American-Canadian Tv-movie created drew in a total of 9.8 million viewers in 1998.

Also, Doctor who over the years have created many online content which interacts with its audience such as Pond-life, and online webisode, featuring clips each week exclusively online, aswell as online games where the audience could use social networking to participate.
